Incident on the Court: Angel Reese’s ClipBoard Outburst
In a recent game against the Washington Mystics, Chicago Sky player Angel Reese had a bit of a moment. According to her social media, the situation with a clipboard during a timeout occurred in “the heat of the moment.” This incident caught fire on social platforms after the match, which happened on Tuesday.
Reese had an impressive game, scoring 22 points, along with 15 rebounds and four assists, continuing her double-double streak. However, with just 30 seconds left in the match, things took a turn. During a timeout, she expressed her frustration by snatching a clipboard from Ancrosby, the team’s vice president of strength and conditioning.
The fallout was swift, with social media users criticizing her actions. But Reese seemed unfazed, posting on X that, “These ****s left me. I screamed at Anne, and she understood it was a heated moment. She didn’t even want an apology because she knew it wasn’t that serious! It hasn’t happened again.”
At the end of the game, the Mystics secured a narrow win, finishing at 81-79.
On a brighter note, Reese received good news as well: she has been named a reserve for the WNBA All-Star Game, joining Napheesa Collier, who will captain their team along with Caitlyn Clark. It’s a fantastic opportunity for her, especially considering last year’s All-Star game where she teamed up with Clark and was part of Team USA. In that game, Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale took home the MVP title, scoring 34 points.
