Angel Reese’s gives terse response after setting Chicago Sky record

Angel Reese wasn’t too concerned about her personal performance Thursday night.

The WNBA rookie superstar set a Chicago Sky franchise record for most offensive rebounds in a season (120) in the team’s 85-65 loss to the Phoenix Mercury.

But when reporters asked about it after the game, Reese wasn’t buying it.

“I know you care more about results than records, but you set another record today,” the reporter tried to ask. According to the Daily Mail.

Before he could finish his thought, Reese jumped in and interrupted him.

“No, I don’t want to hear about no records today,” Reese quickly interjected before the questioner could finish his thought.

Despite the loss on Thursday night, Reese continued her stellar rookie campaign, recording her 18th double-double of the season, good for the most in the WNBA.

She finished with 11 points and 15 rebounds but made just 4 of 14 field goals.

Reese made an impressive play early in the game, catching a high inbound pass and quickly making a shot despite drawing a foul.

But despite his personal record, Reese was interested in talking about Mercury and his respect for Britney Griner.

“She’s a great player, she was really efficient tonight,” Coach Reese said. “What we didn’t do was follow the game plan.”

Reese and the Sky came into the break on a high note, having defeated the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, but they were unable to approach the second half of the season with the same enthusiasm.

Chicago is a strong contender for the playoffs, sitting in eighth place with a 10-15 record, 2.5 games behind the ninth-place Atlanta Dream.
