Angie Harmon sues Instacart driver who allegedly shot and killed her dog

Angie Harmon has sued an Instacart driver who she claims shot and killed her dog during a delivery in late March.

Harmon sued Christopher Reed and Instacart in North Carolina state court on charges including negligence/gross negligence, trespass, invasion of privacy and intentional harm, according to court documents obtained by FOX News Digital.

The actress requested a jury trial to determine monetary damages, and Ms. Harmon argued that damages exceeded $25,000.

Suspect Harmon’s dog shooting incident The incident, named Oliver, occurred over Easter weekend, shortly after a man delivered an order to the “Rizzoli & Isles” star’s home.

“He got out of his car, delivered food, then shot our dog,” Harmon wrote on Instagram at the time. “Our Ring camera was charging inside the house, and he saw it and realized he wasn’t being recorded.” According to the actress, the delivery driver acted in “self-defense.” He was released by the police.

“He didn’t have any scratches or bite marks and his pants weren’t torn,” she claimed.

“He was shopping under the identity of a woman named Merle…The photo is in my story,” she added. Harmon shared a screenshot of the delivery confirmation, which included a photo of the woman.

Harmon argued that police questioned Reid only after he arrived at the home and concluded the investigation before an autopsy was performed on the dog.

A subsequent autopsy of the dog showed no signs of the dog biting or being violent, Harmon said.Good morning, America‘ he said in an interview.

“It’s unbelievable that someone fired a gun in the driveway in front of my house,” she said. “And I’ll never forget that sound.”

“He shot our dog at home with my daughter and I, and just kept saying, ‘Oh, I shot your dog, oh, I did it,'” she explained. “We are completely traumatized and devastated by the loss of our beloved boy and family.”

A spokesperson for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told Fox News Digital that authorities investigated the March 30 incident, but no charges were filed.

“Upon arrival, officers located and contacted all involved,” the spokesperson said. “The investigation revealed that a delivery driver arrived at the residence to deliver supplies. The driver told officers that while at the residence, he was attacked by a dog and fired one shot at the dog. He stated that he defended himself by hitting the dog, causing fatal injuries.” Another dog was in the residence, but did not attack. ”

Instacart is suspended The company profiled the delivery driver at the time and was working with authorities on the investigation, a spokesperson told Fox News Digital. The company has since permanently disabled the account.

“Our hearts continue to be with Mr. Harmon and his family following this disturbing incident,” an Instacart spokesperson told Fox News Digital in a statement. “While we cannot comment on pending litigation, we do not condone violence of any kind and the shopper’s account has been permanently disabled from our platform.”
