Anglers discover body while fishing on Georgia river: police

Police said two anglers fishing on Georgia’s Chattahoochee River discovered the body Wednesday evening.

According to the Chattahoochee Hills Police Department, the men discovered the body around 5:30 p.m.

The fishermen called 911 to notify police of the discovery, and officers responded to Campbellton Park Boat Launch.

With the help of the Chattahoochee Hills Fire Department and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, police were able to recover the body from the water.

A Georgia man allegedly punched his girlfriend and killed a Florida passerby who tried to intervene.

Police said the body will be transported to the Fulton County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.

The Chattahoochee Hills Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment and additional information.
