Surreal video captured a bizarre incident involving a French bulldog, which led to its owner allegedly attacking two neighbors and even attempting to harm his own father on Thursday morning, according to police reports.
The incident was triggered when Hakeem Alexander, 34, confronted a couple whose dog was on his lawn. The couple was outside their home in Laurelton around 11 a.m. with their dog when the altercation escalated.
Video footage shows the woman and her boyfriend, both 39, near their neighbor’s home on 229th Street. Following a dispute about their dog, things took a violent turn.
It’s reported that after the couple’s dog urinated on Alexander’s property, he retaliated by attacking them: he allegedly slashed the woman’s left hand and then stabbed her boyfriend in the back.
In a chaotic twist, Alexander’s 62-year-old father attempted to intervene but was also injured, suffering a cut on his left hand during the scuffle.
Authorities reported that all three individuals were taken to the University of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and were in stable condition following the confrontation.
Alexander has since been arrested and charged with three counts of assault. This incident comes on the heels of a separate attack where a 75-year-old woman was assaulted after asking two women to clean up after their dog in Crown Heights, highlighting a troubling pattern of dog-related disputes escalating into serious violence.
