Investigation into Anne Burrell’s Death

The New York City Police Department is currently looking into Anne Burrell’s death, suspecting it may be related to a drug overdose. This news surfaced on Friday.

Reports indicate that the Food Network personality was found surrounded by numerous pills. It was Tuesday morning when her husband, Stuart Claxton, discovered her unresponsive.

First responders labeled her as “dead on arrival” after Claxton made a 911 call.

Sources claim that Claxton was instructed to perform CPR by the 911 dispatcher, but Burrell was already cold by that time.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office has conducted an autopsy, but the findings regarding the cause of Burrell’s death are still awaited.

Claxton, who wedded Burrell in 2021, found her in a shower at their Brooklyn home around 7:50 a.m. He had last seen her alive early that same morning around 1 a.m.

Reports suggest that Burrell suffered “cardiac arrest” prior to being declared dead at the scene.

On the night before her passing, the “Restaurant Chef’s Secret” alum attended an improv show in Brooklyn. An event center spokesperson remarked on her vibrant spirit, saying, “Anne brought joy, boldness, and an unforgettable presence. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones.”

Burrell’s family released a heartfelt statement, honoring her as a “beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend.” They noted that her smile could light up any room and emphasized how her spirit touched countless lives around the world. Though she is gone, they believe her warmth and love will be remembered forever.

She is survived by her husband and her son, Javier.
