The 2025 Academy Awards seemingly hard to understand why Jason Whitlock from “Fearless” is, but it was carried over to the film “Anola,” which won the best photography, best director and best actress.
“Are you teasing me? Is this porn? And I'm telling you it's something that went through my mind in the first hour of this movie, 45 minutes to an hour,” says Whitlock. “It's like porn.”
According to Whitlock, the film starts with a stripper line wearing a G-string and there's nothing else.
“They seem to be handing out lap dances in some kind of champagne room, but leave little to their imagination. This is the first scene in the film. It's a long line until they finally reach Anora. He calls herself Annie and she's giving someone a lap dance,” explains Whitlock.

The film then spins into one of the romances, where Anorah, or Annie, marries the son of a Russian oligarch.
“How did porn win the best movie at the Oscars?” Whitlock asks. “There's no plot in this, there's no character development in this, and none of these people are the name of the little Russian child from Annie, and I don't think either of them like it.”
“They're drugs, vaping steaming, weeds, they're on coke, they're drinking it all the time,” he continues. “In the first 45 minutes to an hour of that film, he must have hit her eight times. They showed her all eight times.”
“Is it just like how much sex they can put into the movie?” he asks. “And I'm the kind of thing we have. This is American art, this is American film, this is American film, this is the best film in the world.”
However, Hollywood doesn't share Whitlock's feelings.
“Every director Sean Baker, this guy won four Academy Awards last night. He won four Oscars. This guy either broke or tied up Walt Disney records for most Oscar wins,” explains Whitlock.
“This isn't the most decorated film, but the four Oscars this film won are more than the Godfather won. “The Godfather” is definitely the best movie of all time,” Whitlock continued, “We only won three Oscars. This porn, who doesn't understand the plot, character development, or anyone's motives, won four Oscars. It hit “The Godfather.” ”
