Another Boeing Plane Sees Critical Failure as 757’s Nose Wheel Falls Off Before Takeoff

A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 carrying 184 passengers was taxiing down the runway at Atlanta International Airport when its front wheel fell off, forcing it to abort takeoff and part ways with the accident flight.

The flight was waiting to depart when a wheel came off and it rolled down a hill, according to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) report.

Delta Air Lines confirmed an accident on a plane scheduled to fly from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to Bogotá, Colombia.

“While Delta Air Lines Flight 982 ATL/BOG was taxiing for departure, the nose gear tire became detached from the landing gear,” Delta Air Lines told NBC News in a statement Wednesday. report.

“All customers and their bags were removed from the aircraft, transferred to the gate, and placed on a replacement aircraft. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers.”

Delta Air Lines said the plane returned to service the next day.

None of the six passengers or crew members were injured in the crash, according to the FAA's preliminary report.

Although no one was seriously injured in the Alaska Airlines explosion, the FAA grounded 171 Boeing 737 MAX 9 planes and began a safety investigation.
