A bizarre visual effect caused a stir at the Paris Olympics when swimmers’ waists appeared impossibly skinny, becoming the second Olympic moment to have viewers at home doing a double take.
a video A video posted to TikTok by user adamclayton shows Chinese swimmer Tang Qianting lining up at the starting line before the women’s 100m breaststroke competition.
As she stood at the edge of the pool, the sides of her two-tone blue and teal Speedo happened to blend perfectly with the wall behind her, unconsciously making her waist appear just a few inches wide.
The video, captioned “She got robbed,” has been viewed more than 5.5 million times on TikTok and another 4 million times on X, with many commenters making jokes about the creepy footage.

“Paris Ozempic 2024,” one user commented, referring to a well-known diabetes medication that has gone viral as a weight loss drug.
“When you eat a salad instead of the obvious three servings of pasta,” joked another.
“I want a link to that swimsuit,” a third commenter said.
The video was the second unusual one to be released in the days since the Paris Games.
