Another person arrested after a sex toy was thrown at a WNBA game in Arizona

Police have made a second arrest related to an incident where green adult toys were thrown into the crowd during a WNBA game. The latest arrest involves 18-year-old Caden Lopez from Arizona, who admitted to tossing the toys at spectators during a matchup between the Phoenix Mercury and the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday.

According to authorities, Lopez retrieved a toy from his sweater pocket and threw it toward attendees behind him, hitting one of them. Video evidence shows him in his seat, appearing to throw the object forward before standing up and leaving the area. Another individual in the audience was reportedly struck by the toy.

One victim, who was watching the game with a young relative, expressed concerns and wants actions taken against the perpetrators, as indicated in court documents.

This isn’t the first occurrence; previously, two others—Delbert Carver, 23, among them—were arrested for similar behavior during a game featuring the Golden State Valkyries against the Atlanta Dream on July 29.

The WNBA has issued a statement emphasizing the league’s commitment to the safety of all attendees. They noted that throwing objects onto the court could endanger players, officials, and fans. As a result, anyone caught deliberately throwing items can face a one-year ban from the arena, along with potential legal consequences.

In a related incident, Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham reportedly had a projectile thrown at her during a recent game against the Los Angeles Sparks.
