Anthony Davis was roughed up by his wife after being relieved from Rui Hachimura.
During Saturday's game against the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Davis almost clinched the win on the road.
With 12.1 seconds left and the Lakers holding a narrow 101-99 lead, Davis missed two crucial free throws late in the game.
Fortunately for the Lakers, Davis' frontcourt mate Hachimura secured a crucial offensive rebound, allowing Austin Reeves to sink the next two free throws, sealing a 103-99 victory. Ta.
Fans and analysts were quick to comment on Davis' missed opportunity, but the sharpest criticism came from his wife, Maren.
Speaking after the game, Davis revealed, “My wife called me too and said, “Louis saved you.'' That made me feel sick. ”
Davis later added, “I definitely appreciate Louis' tip-out.”
That's not ideal, considering Davis has shot 6-of-16 on clutch free throws this season.
Overall, Davis had a great season, averaging 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.2 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game.

Davis is also shooting 52.4 percent from the field and 60 percent true shooting.
With the win, the Lakers improve to 16-12 and have one more game at home against the Pistons on Monday before a much-anticipated Christmas Day matchup against Stephen Curry's Warriors in San Francisco.
Davis and Maren married in 2021 and have been dating since 2017.
