Anthony Volpe's mistake in the eighth costs the Yankees as losing streak reaches six

The Yankees finally managed to end their scoreless run.

However, their losing streak remains intact, following another disappointing defeat to the struggling Angels.

The score was 3-2, despite Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone’s calm assurances earlier that their offense was too strong to remain in a slump.

Boone also highlighted the necessity of executing the “little things” when the hitting isn’t working.

During the game, the Yankees struggled with basic plays—they failed to bunt effectively and squandered opportunities.

This latest loss marked the sixth consecutive defeat for a team that once held promise coming out of the Al East.

Anthony Volpe’s error contributed to the go-ahead run for the Angels in the eighth inning, but the Yankees had a chance to equalize in the bottom half.

Trent Grisham attempted to bunt but ended up getting thrown out, and Aaron Judge struck out against Connor Brogdon, marking the Yankees’ continuation of poor performance with 11 strikeouts.

Cody Bellinger had provided some early momentum with a home run, but the Yankees ended up being shut out over 30 innings in their previous three games, finally scoring a run following a solo homer by Jazz Chisholm Jr. that tied it at 1-1.

Chisholm hit a 407-foot shot just inside the right field foul pole for the Yankees’ first run.

Then, Bellinger managed to put the Yankees ahead with another solo home run in the fourth inning, but it was a fleeting lead.

Things took a turn when Joe Adele answered back with a massive 436-foot homer off Ryan Yarbra, tying the game at 2-2 by the fifth inning.
