Anti-Fraud Czar JD Vance Reveals Arrests of Those Who Took $50 Million in Fraud in California

JD Vance Leads Initial Discussion on Anti-Fraud Task Force with Key Cabinet Officials

Vice President J.D. Vance Announces Arrest of Health Care Fraud Suspect

On Thursday, Vice President J.D. Vance revealed that federal law enforcement has apprehended an individual accused of defrauding California’s health care and hospice sectors, with losses exceeding $50 million.

Vance noted on social media, “Our task force is wasting no time tackling fraud. This morning, in the Los Angeles area, federal law enforcement is acting against those who cheated the health care and hospice systems, stealing over $50 million from Americans. Thank you,” he added, acknowledging the efforts of local authorities involved in the case.

Bill Ezeiri, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, provided more details, stating, “Federal law enforcement, alongside the Fraud Elimination Task Force, executed multiple arrests and search warrants today aimed at hospice and health care fraud. Operation Never Say Die encompasses 11 defendants linked to fraud exceeding $50 million. Those arrested will appear in federal court later today, and a press conference will follow to share further information.”

Previously, President Donald Trump appointed Vance to spearhead the administration’s anti-corruption initiatives.

The Fraud Task Force has highlighted a concerning amount of fraud activity in California, leading to the suspension of 221 hospice and health care providers in Los Angeles so far.

A spokesperson for Vance commented, “The administration’s battle against corruption is showing results as more suspensions occur and fraudsters face justice for taking advantage of hard-working Americans through theft from taxes and social services. The Vice President and his task force are pleased with these numbers and anticipate even greater improvements ahead.”

Administration officials anticipate that the number of suspended hospice and home health care providers will likely rise significantly.

One senior official mentioned, “We expect this number to increase significantly in the coming weeks.” In comparison, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, remarked, “In 10 weeks, we’re nearing Governor Newsom’s numbers achieved in four years.”
