Conflict Erupts on New York Beach Over Star of David Necklace
A tranquil afternoon at a New York beach took an unexpected turn when anti-Israel activists confronted former Israeli soldiers who were wearing Star of David necklaces. The incident was captured on video and shared by ILTV Israel News, showcasing a heated exchange filled with accusations.
The activists targeted these soldiers simply based on their jewelry. An Instagram post by the news outlet stated that the protesters harassed former IDF members who were enjoying their day at the beach. Despite the aggressive behavior of the activists, the soldiers remained calm and respectful, with the outlet noting that the hostility came only from one side.
In the footage, one activist approaches a man lounging on a towel with two companions, accusing him outright of committing war crimes. “You went to Gaza, didn’t you? Did you kill children there?” she shouted.
The men answered her calmly, with one confirming his service in the Israeli Defense Forces and his deployment in Gaza. The woman with him interjected, stating that he went there to help the very children she claimed were harmed by their actions.
As the protester continued shouting and filming, one of the men attempted to engage further. “If you want to see the photos, I can show you what’s happening there,” he stated.
The protesters pressed for evidence, demanding, “Show me a photo of your brothers in Gaza!” Her questions continued, focusing on whether he was proud of his service. With a smile, he replied, “I am proud to serve my country,” which seemed to escalate her anger.
She then questioned if he felt he would kill again and radicalize others. He subtly referenced the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, where over 1,200 Israelis lost their lives and hundreds were taken hostage.
Seeking dialogue, he invited her to have a meaningful conversation, but she declined. When he asked if she’d been to Gaza, she responded, “I can’t go to Gaza. Your people won’t let me.” He commented that if she wore her bikini there, she would be in serious danger, to which she objected vehemently.
A lifeguard eventually intervened, trying to mediate the situation. The activists claimed the Israelis were mocking her, insisting they were soldiers responsible for killing people in Gaza.
As tensions wound down, she shouted “Free Palestine!” as she walked away from the beach. Throughout the exchange, the man remained composed, even as she accused him of being a “child killer.” He maintained his demeanor, simply responding, “Just leave us alone.”
Fox News Digital attempted to reach the New York City Parks department for comments on the incident but had not received a response.
