Anti-Israel group has meltdown after Harvard withholds degrees for 13 protesters

The Harvard Undergraduate Palestine Solidarity Committee announced on Wednesday that the Harvard University Board of Trustees has voted to withhold the degrees of 13 protesters who were scheduled to graduate this year.

“The Harvard University Board of Trustees has formally resolved to withhold the degrees of 13 fourth-year students for protesting the genocide in Gaza. This comes after more than 1,500 students, 500 faculty and staff, and 45 student organizations came out in protest against an oppressive trustee board,” the Harvard University Board of Trustees said.

“The Corporation has decided to ignore the voice of the people and now everything has gone to waste,” the group threatened.

“This group will not be recognized and will no longer receive university benefits.”

The HUPSC announced that a new group, the Harvard Jewish Alumni for Justice, Pledged They will not donate to any Harvard schools unless the university responds to its crackdown on students by “divesting from Israel and lifting sanctions on students.”

The Ivy League university suspended HUPSC in April for organizing unauthorized protests at the peak of campus encampments. Harvard CrimsonHUPSC is one of many university groups that have signed a statement saying that “the Israeli regime is fully responsible for all acts of violence” that have occurred since October 7.

“During this period, the organization will not be recognized and will not be able to receive any University benefits or services, including use of campus space or proper use of the Harvard name,” the university’s email read. “If the organization continues to operate during this suspension and commits further violations, it may be at risk of permanent expulsion, as outlined in our Resource Guide.”

To prevent more people other than students and faculty from camping out on campus, Harvard has had to close the campus to the public.
