Anti-Israel demonstrators armed with smoke bombs marched toward New York Police Department headquarters on Monday night after the number of students arrested at New York University reportedly rose to more than 150.

Footage from Monday night’s protests showed anti-Israel demonstrators marching toward police headquarters with bright smoke bombs held over their heads, while other protesters waved flags, beat drums and chanted “Gaza!” He is seen screaming.
This comes hours after police used zip ties to restrain protesters who continued to ignore police calls to leave the area and put them on a police bus.
Other video footage showed New York City police officers in riot gear monitoring protesters chanting “Liberate Palestine while I’m still alive.”
A New York University spokesperson said: pix 11 As “disorderly, disruptive and hostile” masked protesters swarmed Gould Plaza, the university asked the NYPD to send a letter requesting police intervention.
Anti-Israel protesters had called on New York University to end its relationship with Tel Aviv University.
Additionally, dozens of New York University faculty members tied arms to prevent police from moving in to stop the protests.
Meanwhile, more than 100 protesters have been arrested at Columbia University, and the school announced Monday it would move classes online amid concerns for students at its Manhattan campus.
New York Republican lawmakers have called for the resignation of Colombian President Minouche Shafik, saying he cannot provide safety for Jewish students.
Additionally, protests have begun at other universities across the country, and dozens of anti-Israel protesters were arrested at Yale University on Monday.
