Anti-Semitic protesters could be heard chanting “Heil Hitler” and other violent slogans during a men’s soccer match between Israel and Paraguay on Saturday night.
Protesters made their presence known during the match at the Parc des Princes, carrying Palestinian flags and signs reading “Genocide Olympics”.
Protesters then gave Nazi salutes and chanted “Heil Hitler” as the Israeli national anthem was played.

Booing could also be heard from anti-Israel protesters as they played the national anthem.
The protesters were removed from the match. Sky NewsParaguay defeated Israel 4-2.
It is the second time Israel has dealt with protesters during an Olympic game, after a similarly cold reception in their match against Mali last Wednesday.

The stadium’s speakers were turned up to drown out the boos and whistles from fans during the anthem, but they could not quell the jeers that echoed every time an Israeli player touched the ball during the match.
Ynet News reported that Israel coach Guy Ruzon took a noble stance after the match, saying, “Let’s have the loudest protest, and then we’ll try harder.”

As the war between Israel and Hamas rages in the Middle East, Israeli athletes have been under close scrutiny by police and Olympic officials to ensure their safety. The soccer team, for example, arrived at the opening match under heavy police escort, with armed police patrolling the stadium.
Meanwhile, French police have reportedly launched an investigation into death threats received by three Israeli athletes at the Olympics, and Olympic organisers have called for an investigation into anti-Semitic protesters at Saturday’s games, according to Sky News.
“Paris 2024 strongly condemns these actions. Paris 2024 has filed a complaint and the authorities are ready to cooperate with the investigation,” Olympics organizers told Sky News in a statement about Saturday’s anti-Semitic demonstrations.
France is deploying 35,000 police officers every day during the Olympics to ensure security for all countries taking part, with 45,000 deployed to the opening ceremony.

France has also received help from 40 countries which have sent reinforcements of around 2,000 troops.
