Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has joined a growing number of Democrats in endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the next president of the United States.
“Kamala Harris will be the next president of the United States,” Ocasio-Cortez said. I have written X’s post stated: “I pledge my full support to ensure her victory in November. Now more than ever, it is important that our party and country come together quickly to defeat Donald Trump and this threat to American democracy. Let’s act now.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s endorsement of Harris came hours after President Joe Biden’s endorsement. Announced He will not seek reelection as president.
“Serving as your president has been the greatest honor of my life,” Biden wrote. “While I intended to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and our country for me to step down and focus solely on fulfilling the duties of my presidency for the remainder of my term.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s endorsement of Harris came alongside that of other “Squad” members, including House members. Jamaal Bowman (Democrat, New York) and Rep. Ilhan Omar Democratic lawmakers from Minnesota also issued statements endorsing Harris as the party’s presidential candidate.
Other Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts) and Governor Josh Shapiro (D-Pennsylvania), have also issued statements in support of Harris.
