Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York tried unsuccessfully Wednesday to go after Hunter Biden’s former business associate Tony Bobulinski.
During a controversial House Oversight Committee hearing, Ocasio-Cortez asked Bobulinski a “simple” question. “Does your testimony today mean that you personally witnessed President Joe Biden’s criminal behavior?”
“Yes,” Bobulinski replied. “How long should it take to pass?”
What happened next made Ocasio-Cortez the target of online ridicule as she exposed her own ignorance of the law in an attempt to score political points.
After Bobulinski affirmed, she demanded the “name” of the crime she allegedly witnessed President Joe Biden commit. Bobulinski cited the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, the Foreign Agents Registration Act, the “Corruption Act,” and conspiracy.
“Sir, what is that crime? Specifically?!” Ocasio-Cortez demanded.
“You’re asking me to answer a question. I answered a question,” Bobulinski replied. “RICO, you clearly don’t know much about corruption laws, FARA.”
“Sorry!” Ocasio-Cortez interjected. “RICO is not a crime. It’s a category. What is a crime?”
Despite his condescending attitude, Bobulinski told Ocasio-Cortez that RICO is a “category of crimes” and asked if she could list specific statutes that she believes Biden has violated. I asked please. When Ocasio-Cortez said yes, Bobulinski tried, explaining that it was unnecessary because most of the members of the hearing were lawyers, but Ocasio-Cortez cut him off.

Unfortunately for Ocasio-Cortez, she’s mostly wrong.
Although the acronym “RICO” is not a crime, itselfLaw on Corrupt Organizations Influenced by Soukoya is a codified federal law Like all other criminal laws and criminal procedure laws, it is found in Title 18 of the United States Penal Code.
“This is strange. RICO — Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, 18 USC §§ 1961–1968 — is definitely a crime. It often results in huge felony convictions.” explained Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is an experienced lawyer.
As Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R.S.C.) concluded“Someone needs to remind the left: Just because you’re loud doesn’t mean you’re right.”
