The would-be Trump assassin arrested at the golf course where Trump was playing on Sunday was armed with an AK-47-style rifle, police officials said. spoke From CBS News.
FOX News Reported The suspect, who is currently in custody, “pointed an AK-47 rifle at former President Trump on the golf course on Sunday afternoon. Secret Service agents located the gun and fired shots at the suspect at about 1:30 p.m.,” the report said.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw attention After the Secret Service fired shots, the suspect fled the scene, and a witness saw the suspect's vehicle while he was fleeing and took a photo of the license plate. Using the witness' information, police were able to arrest the suspect.
Police went to the bushes where the suspect had emerged and found “an AK-47-type rifle with a scope and two backpacks hanging on a fence,” he said. [and] It had ceramic tiles and a G0-Pro built in.”
Bradshaw said a Secret Service agent one block ahead of Trump “saw the barrel of a rifle protruding from the fence and immediately engaged the individual.”
Sheriff Bradshaw promised to release more information about the suspect's background once he is arrested.
