Apple Expands Product Range with Affordable iPhones

Apple is broadening its lineup with a new, budget-friendly iPhone model.

On a recent Monday, the tech giant from California introduced the iPhone 17e, priced starting at $599. It comes in black, white, and soft pink colors.

The iPhone 17e kicks off with 256 GB of storage, which is double the base capacity of its predecessor, yet at the same entry price.

New Age Verification Tool Introduced by Apple

The iPhone 17e is powered by Apple’s A19 chip and utilizes the new C1X modem, which the company claims enhances battery performance. Additionally, it features a 48MP Fusion camera that merges the capabilities of two advanced cameras into one.

This rollout follows the iPhone 17’s robust performance in the first quarter of fiscal 2026, where sales surged nearly 25%. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, described the results as “phenomenal” during a discussion with FOX Business.

Apple reported revenues of $143.8 billion for the first fiscal quarter, marking a 16% increase compared to the previous year. Cook highlighted record sales in both North America and China, even amid the challenges posed by local competitors in recent times.

In conjunction, Apple announced a series of new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models featuring the cutting-edge M5 chip, which will see a price hike. This increase is attributed to a global shortage of memory chips, termed “Ramageddon,” fueled by rising demand from artificial intelligence applications.

Expansion of U.S. Manufacturing Efforts in Texas

The 13-inch MacBook Air starts at $999, while the 15-inch model ranges from $1,199 to $1,299. Both versions will have their base storage upgraded to 512GB.

Moreover, prices are rising across the MacBook Pro range, with the 14-inch model equipped with the M5 Pro chip now priced at $2,199, an increase from $1,999. The 16-inch model’s price has jumped from $2,499 to $2,699.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 Max chip starts at $3,599, and the 16-inch version begins at $3,899, both seeing a $400 rise. The standard M5 MacBook Pro has also increased to $1,699, according to reports.

In a further announcement, Apple unveiled the MacBook Neo, which is marketed as its most affordable laptop to date. Prices for the 13-inch version commence at $599, or $499 for educational purchasers.

iPhone Demand Drives Significant Sales Growth

On the other hand, while Apple’s Mac division recorded first-quarter sales of $8.39 billion, this reflects a nearly 7% decline compared to the same time last year, falling short of analysts’ expectations of $9 billion.
