Apple Launches New AirTags with Big Discounts on Older Models
Good news for bargain hunters! Apple announced its new AirTags today, featuring an extended search range, larger speakers, and improved precision tracking. However, what many are really focused on is the current deal: the previous generation AirTag 4-pack is now 29% off on Amazon. This slight price cut might catch your attention if you’re considering a model that’s just hit the market.
The Apple AirTag 4-pack is priced at $69 (down from $99), which breaks down to about $17.50 per tag. If you’re looking to keep track of your keys, a work bag, your dog, or that black suitcase you keep promising to label for your next trip, now might be the right time to buy.
What’s New and Why It Matters
The pricing for the new AirTags remains consistent at $29 each or a total of $99 for four. However, they come with significant upgrades. The precise search feature works up to 50% farther, thanks to an upgraded Bluetooth chip. This also enhances the speaker volume, making it 50% louder, so it can be heard from nearly twice as far depending on where you are. They’ve also added support for sharing item locations with airlines through an Item Location Sharing feature.
If having the latest version is a priority for you, that’s great news. But if you’re more concerned about losing items without breaking the bank, then the older model could be just what you need.
The Apple AirTag 4 Pack consists of four Bluetooth trackers that pair instantly with your iPhone or iPad and integrate with Apple’s Find My app, helping you locate commonly misplaced items like keys, wallets, and luggage. You can use the app to find items, play sounds through the integrated speakers, and receive guided directions using Precision Search, available on compatible iPhone models.
AirTag also supports a Lost Mode and can send notifications when items are detected on the Find My network. For shared items such as keys or luggage, each AirTag can be shared with up to five people. They run on a replaceable CR2032 battery expected to last over a year, and the tracker is IP67 rated for waterproof and dustproof qualities, which is quite handy for everyday use and travel.
