Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” Aims for Permanent Border Security
President Donald Trump has introduced what’s being called the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which aims to provide long-term funding for border security against illegal entry. Stephen Miller stated on Tuesday that this legislation represents “50 years of hopes and dreams for the American people to secure borders.”
The bill allocates $46.5 billion to finish constructing the border wall and enhance monitoring technology. It also includes around $100 billion for detaining immigrants, hiring new enforcement agents, and deportation efforts.
Additionally, it proposes reforms in legal migration processes and outsourcing practices. There’s also an emphasis on creating a strong economic foundation to boost the incomes of young Americans and their families.
Vice President JD Vance commented, “This is a huge victory for Americans,” while Senator Eric Schmidt remarked, “We will reclaim our country.”
Reflecting on the state of illegal immigration, Miller noted, “When President Trump took office on January 20th, the United States faced the largest wave of illegal immigration in history. Within days, Trump established the safest border seen globally, thanks to his leadership and vision.” He added that achieving successful illegal entries on such a scale should be unthinkable, given the circumstances.
He further stated that the deployment of military resources, the construction of infrastructure, and the activities of federal law enforcement have led to what he called absolute border security. With the passage of this bill, he believes this security can become permanent.
Miller added, “I’ve dedicated my life to conservative principles. This bill embodies the most comprehensive homeland security proposal I’ve encountered, even dating back to President Eisenhower. It honors the promises made to Americans in the last election.”
