Arab Gulf countries unite to criticize Iran following extensive retaliatory attacks

Iran’s Attacks Spark Gulf States’ Backlash

Iran seems to have jeopardized its relationships by launching missiles at various neighboring countries and targeting civilian locations. This prompted a strong reaction from Gulf nations, notably Saudi Arabia, which condemned Iran’s actions.

Saudi Arabia issued a warning about “serious consequences” due to what it termed “Iran’s treachery,” particularly after drone strikes ignited fires in hotels and residential areas, including the Fairmont The Palm in Dubai.

On Saturday, loud explosions echoed in Riyadh, the capital.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry stated that Iran’s actions represented “a blatant violation” of the sovereignty of several nations, including the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan. They expressed full solidarity with these countries in light of the situation.

Civilian areas, including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Israel, the UAE, and others, were also struck in what occurred just hours after the US and Israel faced a significant offensive named Operation Epic Fury.

At least five people reportedly died from Iranian airstrikes, although many of Iran’s ballistic missiles were intercepted by forces in the Arab nations.

Saudi air defense teams managed to intercept other projectiles aimed at the capital. The nation called upon the international community to denounce the attacks and stand against Iranian acts that threaten regional stability.

The UAE has faced multiple waves of missile and drone attacks, with one incident resulting in a fatality at the luxurious Fairmont hotel on Palm Jumeirah. The Gulf states expressed their outrage over these attacks.

Officials noted that they were prepared to address any threats and would take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of their territory and populace.

Qatar condemned the attacks, labeling them a “gross violation” of its sovereignty and an infringement on security and territorial integrity. They emphasized their right to respond appropriately under international law to protect their interests.

Jordan was also targeted, with King Abdullah II condemning Iran’s actions as a breach of international law.

Interestingly, Lebanon, which hasn’t been attacked, still voiced its disapproval of Iran’s actions, asserting solidarity with the affected Arab states.

Even Oman, although untouched, warned that US and Israeli military operations could escalate the situation beyond repair, reflecting a cautious but critical stance towards the ongoing conflicts.
