Arch Manning Shines in Texas Victory
In a standout performance on Saturday, Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning led his team to a resounding 55-0 victory against Sam Houston State. Manning completed 18 of 21 passes, accumulating 309 yards and throwing three touchdowns, and he also contributed with two rushing touchdowns, showcasing his versatility.
One moment in particular caught fans’ attention during the game. On one of his rushes, Manning made a remarkable five-yard touchdown run, spinning out of a defender’s grasp and playfully taunting him afterward. This sparked a brief confrontation on the field.
Needless to say, Manning was fired up. Texas senior safety Michael Tuff remarked after the game, “He’s got his swagger back. Everyone knew it was there, and tonight he really showed it.” Manning himself admitted he had concerns about drawing a penalty for his actions during that play.
Interestingly, Manning’s performance marked a significant turnaround from the previous games where he had struggled, especially against San Jose and UTEP. Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian expressed his thoughts on Manning’s progress, saying, “When he’s a bit looser and free, that’s the best version of him. He used his legs effectively, and it was great to see the bounce in his steps.”
As a side note, Texas has slipped to No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 polls, with a current season record of 3-1. Fans are undoubtedly hopeful that Manning’s form will continue to rise as the season progresses.
