Just a few years ago, Archmanning was one of the nation's most highly regarded high school recruits.
He ultimately decided to bring his potential and famous surname to Austin.
When Quinn Ewers declared for the NFL Draft, Manning opened the door to move to the starter role for Texas Longhorns in 2025.
As the national spring game begins, ESPN host and commentator Leccon Davis made bold predictions about the role Manning could play as he took the next step in his college career.
As the season approaches, the hype surrounding Manning will escalate.
Davis suggested that Manning could become the “ultimate villain.”
“It's a shame. He'll be a fan favorite of non-Texas people because he'll get, and () others outside of Texas will be the ultimate villains.
Davis later compared Manning's hype train to what happens frequently when new movies and TV shows are popular and well received by the public, but some inevitably either strongly oppose it or try to trust it all together.
“That's what happens in the arch,” predicted Davis.
Manning appeared in 10 games last season, but he started in place of the injured cry.
The young quarterback finished the 2024 season with 939 passing yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions.
Texas beat Clemson in the first round of the college football playoffs. He then won Arizona State in the quarterfinals with a thrilling overtime.
The ultimate national champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes, eliminated the Longhorns from the playoff race in January.
Texas will hold its 2025 season against the Buckeyes on August 30th in Columbus.
