A 2-year-old boy was killed Saturday in Arizona when a gust of wind blew the bounce house he was playing in and crashed into an adjacent property, authorities said.
According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the giant inflatable became airborne around 5 p.m., carrying several children, including an infant. According to the Arizona Republic.
The 2-year-old was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries, the second child suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and one child suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said. There are no provisions.
The sheriff’s office called the incident a “tragic accident.”
The agency said, “We would like to offer our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the grieving family.” According to Fox11.
Fire officials say the young victim, identified as Bodhi by a family friend, is the son of a Phoenix firefighter. In an Instagram post.
“To add to the unimaginable hell they have been through for the past two days, [parents] Carl and Christy are due at the end of May,” Phoenix Fire Department 25 wrote online.

A fundraiser has been launched for the distraught family and has so far raised more than $83,000.
“As a community, we want to offer support and ease the financial burden that comes with a tragedy like this,” a family friend wrote. “Your donation will help Carl and Kristy focus on mourning their beloved Bodhi while preparing for a new chapter in their lives.”
