Arizona's Democratic leader, Raul Grialba, passed away Thursday morning from complications related to lung cancer, according to a statement from his office.

He was reportedly diagnosed with lung cancer in April last year.
The 77-year-old Democrat had won many of his infamous names in Congress as a member of the Natural Resources Committee.
“From permanent protection of the Grand Canyon for future generations to strengthening affordable care laws, his proudest moments in Congress have always been led by the voice of the community,” the statement said.
“He will lead historical investments in climate action, modernising ports of entry, permanent funding for land and water conservation programs, access to health care for tribal communities, uninsured equity for immigrant families and dreamers, forgiveness of student loans, strong protection of farmers and workers exposed to extreme heat, expanding early childhood education, strengthening early childhood education, higher standards for tribal consultations, and more ongoing.
“Some of these victories seemed out of reach when he first came to Congress, but with the support of his community, colleagues, allies and staff, he helped him make them a reality.”
He has been a member of the Congress since 2003.
According to coldGrijalva was also the subject of continued criticism while receiving treatment for not voting a large number of votes for Capitol Hill.
Nevertheless, the deceased lawmakers still had a wealth of voices from Agriculture Dol.
“First and foremost, as someone who lost my father recently, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Grillarva family,” said Arizona Rep. Alma Hernandez (D-Tucson). Fox News. “Losing a parent is beyond one of the most difficult experiences you can face. Outside of this political world, we are all normal people. Let our families find peace in the memories of living with lawmakers.”
Many Democratic politicians, including New York's signature Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), also rang X to highlight Grillarva's recent death.
“A truly devastating loss. Raúl Grijalva was one of the biggest champions for all the people working in Congress. His leadership was idiosyncratic. He was generously coached and an incredible friend. I am always grateful for his lifelong courage and commitment.”
On social media, GOP House speaker Mike Johnson similarly announced his death, writing:
“The House of Representatives is sad to hear of the death of Rep. Raul Griarba. Our prayers are with Raul's wife, Ramona, his three children and people from the seventh district of Arizona,” Johnson posted on X.
The Democrats represented the deep blue district. They keep the doors wide open for the contested primary election.
Conservatives immediately commented on the Democrat's death via his latest X-Post, highlighting that representatives of the deceased “post” on X in some way after his death.
