Arizona mom nearly mauled to death by pit bull she rescued from homeless person and nurtured to health for 4 years

Arizona women Attacked by a pit bull She spent years rescuing the child and nursing him back to health.

Enza Piazza told KVOA-TV that she brought the pit bull, named Baby Girl, to her home in 2020.

“His lungs were collapsed and he’d already lost two pints of blood.”

Piazza said late last year the dog became aggressive for no apparent reason and became dangerous.

“She rocked me back and forth,” Piazza recalled. “I couldn’t breathe and in that moment I had no idea that my lungs had collapsed and I had already lost two pints of blood.”

She said she thought she was going to die because the dog, weighing about 90 pounds, was overpowering her.

“She was literally on top of me, grabbing my arms and grabbing my flesh back and forth,” she added.

Piazza called out to his daughter, Nina, for help and told her to get a gun.

“My mom reminded me about the guns we had and said, ‘Go get them,’ and I said, ‘Are you sure?’ because I didn’t want to do that,” her daughter said.

She then shot the dog.

“She started spinning and my mum said, ‘do it again’ so I did it again and she was still moving so I did it again and then she lay down,” Nina added.

“I saved her. I never meant to hurt her.”

Piazza has received criticism for euthanizing the dog, but says he had no other choice.

“I had no control over the situation and I never intended to hurt her,” she added. “I saved her. I never intended to hurt her.”

The woman said she has undergone three surgeries and ongoing treatment as a result of the incident, and also suffers from nightmares and flashbacks.

A number of pit bull attacks, sometimes fatal, have led some government officials to call for a ban on pit bulls, but pit bull activists say owners are to blame and animals shouldn’t be punished for their poor decisions.

In one horrific incident in February, a man was mauled to death by his pit bull at his Compton home, and police had to euthanize 13 of his dogs.
