The Arizona teacher was seen grinning in court while facing several child sex crimes allegedly having sex with students on campus.
Eric Curtis Chapman, 43, a teacher and baseball coach at Cortez High School in Phoenix, was arrested Wednesday after Title first led a detective and found a nude photo he allegedly sent to a minor.
It is said that the teacher later recognized several sexual interactions with the students. Court documents say that it includes several filming in several areas of the school’s campus. Obtained by FOX10.
The teacher was found with a big smile when he appeared in a virtual courthouse before a judge on Thursday, a video obtained by the outlet showed.
Chapman is said to have acknowledged sexual interaction between the two current students (minors) and the former student who is now an adult.
“What concerns the state is when officers interviewed the suspects he admitted to sexual conduct that has been happening recently, just like last week,” prosecutor Ashley Stetson reported at the hearing, the outlet reported.
Chapman also argued that he had allowed to download hundreds of sexually exploitative videos and photos of minors.
He faced multiple sexual acts in minor minors and sexual exploitation, held on $250,000 in cash bonds, the outlet reported.
The parent of one of the children at Cortez High School told the outlet.
The Glendale Union High School district said in a statement to its parents that its teachers and coaches were fired as soon as the allegations were revealed.
“When we learned of the allegations, the school and district management took immediate action,” the district said.
“Teachers are relieved of all duties. The Glendale Union High School District takes these issues seriously and works closely with law enforcement to assist with the investigation and ensure the safety of students,” the statement said.
