Firefighters in Arizona recently saved the life of a woman who fell into a dry well over the weekend.

The woman, whose identity has not been released, fell into a well surrounded by a chain-link fence Sunday night, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. This structure is located on a vacant lot in Chandler.

The victim was on the property with another person, who remained with him after the fall. The circumstances of the incident are still unclear.

“For reasons we don’t know, she decided to stay in the hole and call us this morning,” Chandler Fire Department Chief Carlos Vargas said. “They didn’t give us too many details about how the incident happened.”

The woman suffered minor injuries to her lower back and leg. After an hour and a half of cooperation with authorities, she was rescued and taken to the hospital Monday morning.

Vargas told FOX 7 that fortunately the woman did not lose consciousness.

The killer of a Tucson girl who disappeared in 2012 has finally been found, but she is already serving a life sentence.
