Arlo Willner, child of late-night television fame, faces accusations in NYC stabbing

Charges Filed Against Young Man in Manhattan Bar Incident

A 20-year-old man, linked to a prominent late-night television family, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly slashing three individuals during a confrontation outside a bar in Manhattan.

Arlo Wilner, the offspring of James Corden and the late Hal Willner—an Emmy-winning producer for Saturday Night Live—appeared in Manhattan Crown Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges stemming from his arrest.

His bail has been set at $100,000 cash or $200,000 in bonds, which was quickly posted, allowing him to leave custody within a day.

Reportedly, the incident began around 3:30 AM when Wilner asked for cocaine, leading to a violent altercation. According to criminal complaints, he became increasingly aggressive, pulling out a knife during the argument.

During the scuffle, he allegedly inflicted serious injuries on three male victims, including a deep cut to one man’s neck and wounds to another’s shoulder. Another victim in his thirties was also stabbed in the stomach.

The chaos eventually ended when one of the victims managed to grab the knife and toss it away from the scene.

Prosecutors have charged Wilner with multiple counts related to the use of a weapon, including attempted murder, as well as criminal possession charges.

Interestingly, after his arrest, Wilner was not held in custody for long, which has raised some eyebrows given the nature of the charges.

Wilner’s mother, Sheila Rogers, has a notable background as a producer for “Late Show with James Corden,” and previously worked with “Late Show with David Letterman,” showcasing a family deeply entrenched in the entertainment industry.

His father, Hal Willner, was a well-respected music producer for Saturday Night Live before his passing in April 2020 due to Covid-19 complications, leaving behind a legacy of innovative projects, including unique all-star compilation albums.

As for Wilner’s legal counsel, attorney David Scott Smith opted not to make any statements regarding the case on Sunday. Attempts to reach both Wilner and Rogers for comment were unsuccessful.

Wilner’s next court date is scheduled for May 22nd.
