A daughter and her grandson of a French cryptocurrency entrepreneur narrowly avoided an armed attack in Paris on Tuesday. This incident marks the latest attack on crypto traders in the city, as reported by police.
According to police sources, four masked individuals targeted several people, including children, in the 11th district. Thankfully, all three victims sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Eyewitness reports indicated that three masked men exited a van, attempting to force the woman and her child into the vehicle. They assaulted the woman’s partner, who tried to help.
In a brave effort, the woman fought back, managing to wrestle away one of the attackers’ firearms and throw it aside. Her screams ultimately drew the attention of passersby.
The attackers fled in a van parked nearby.
The woman is the daughter of the CEO and co-founder of Paymium, a French cryptocurrency exchange.
This incident follows the kidnapping of French crypto executive David Balland and his partner earlier in January.
Balland, co-founder of the Ledger Crypto Firm, had to resort to drastic measures during his ordeal.
Currently, at least nine individuals are in custody, including those thought to be orchestrating the attacks.
In May, previous attackers had lured a man, aiming to extort ransom from the son of Crypto City. Police arrested seven individuals following an operation to rescue him.
