General Randy George, Chief of Army Staff, ordered the Army to review all general officer memorandums of rim or Gomor issued to soldiers related to the Biden administration's coronavirus vaccine mandate, his spokesman Army Dave Butler told Breitbart News.
George personally reached out to the affected soldiers who were issued GOMORS, a career-damaging administrative punishment for serious misconduct, to let them know that the Army was considering their case.
The Biden administration has driven out more than 8,000 US troops from the military after refusing to take the emergency-use permitted vaccine. It is estimated that tens of thousands of other troops have appointed.
Congressional Republicans ultimately overturned their mission in December 2022, kicking out healthy troops during the historic recruitment crisis. The Pentagon officially ended its delegation in January 2023.
President Donald Trump has issued an executive order dictating that he was kicked out via mission and that the military, hoping to return to service, can return to previous ranks with backpay and benefits.
However, there are soldiers who have been punished with Gomorr for resistance to vaccines, including Gomorr, and whose carriers have been harmed.
George's orders take a step towards revoking the major damages made by mandate and repairing those careers.
Approximately 1,900 soldiers were forced to delegate. Butler told The Associated Press that over half have been contacted by phone or email, with about 200 people so far showing interest in returning to the service.
Under the Trump administration, the number of recruits for the Army, Air Force and Navy has risen, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegses has made recruiting one of his top priorities.
