Arrest made after fire aimed at the private residence of the UK prime minister

On Tuesday, British police apprehended a 21-year-old suspect after a fire incident occurred at the residence of Prime Minister Kiel Starmer in London. This is according to various reports.

The Metropolitan Police reported that the suspect caused damage to the door of the house the day after the early morning fire on Monday. It was noted that, due to past connections with notable public figures, the investigation is being overseen by the counterterrorism command.

Officials indicated that the arrests are linked to two incidents—the car fire near Hoshino House on Sunday and a door fire on May 8 at another location in North London, which is a property converted into apartments associated with celebrities.

Police described all three incidents as suspicious, and the investigation continues. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported resulting from the fires.

Interestingly, Starmer is not currently residing in his home; instead, he has been staying with his family at the official residence in Downing Street since taking office in July.

A neighbor, Charles Grant, mentioned to the press that police were searching his yard for any potential projectiles on Monday.

The Conservative Party’s main opposition leader, Kemi Badenok, expressed her concern by calling the incident “shocking.” She mentioned it as an attack on democracy that should never be tolerated.

Additionally, the Starmer residence has faced protests in the past. Last year, three pro-Palestinian activists were arrested after they displayed banners near the location, which led to public order charges.
