Protester Arrested Outside ICE Facility in Portland
A woman was arrested during a standoff with federal agents outside a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday afternoon. This is according to footage shared by TPUSA Frontlines with FOX News Digital.
The video, lasting over a minute, displays officers issuing commands as the woman, wearing a keffiyeh, crosses a marked blue line on the property. Moments later, several officers pulled her towards the entrance while others attempted to manage the crowd. As the situation escalated, screams from protesters echoed, and pepper spray was deployed.
TPUSA Frontlines stated that the woman “crossed a line that ICE does not want her to cross” and seemed to have made contact with officers before her arrest. They also noted that crowd sizes were anticipated to increase later in the evening once the rain let up.
In a separate but related incident, a protester dressed in a life-sized Elmo costume stirred confusion among anti-ICE demonstrators.
The Portland Police Bureau confirmed that two individuals were arrested during the protests. A spokesperson indicated that their names and charges would take time to ascertain since the officers hadn’t yet transferred them to the substation.
ICE did not immediately respond to inquiries about whether its agents carried out the arrest or if they used pepper spray during the confrontation.
Protests outside ICE facilities in Portland have been frequent in recent weeks, with activists expressing opposition to detention and deportation policies. TPUSA Frontline also alleged that demonstrators had established a “safe house” near downtown Portland to store supplies and coordinate their actions, though this claim remains unverified.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to monitoring the area for illegal activities. The identities of those arrested on Saturday have yet to be made public, and further information is expected as the situation unfolds.
