A limited liability company linked to North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick is facing a lawsuit for over $285,000. The lawsuit comes from a painting contractor who alleges he suffered “serious injuries” due to “dangerous and unsafe” conditions at Belichick’s Nantucket residence.
While Belichick isn’t directly named in the lawsuit filed last week in Nantucket Superior Court, sources indicate that he operates Forty-Five Fair Street LLC, which shares the address of his home.
The incident reportedly took place in June 2024 when painter Andrew Jackson slipped and fell due to risky conditions, resulting in injuries to his right ankle. According to the lawsuit, this led to pain, medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages.
Jackson noted that unsafe conditions included alleged plastic sheets and coverings at Belichick’s property. He is accusing Forty-Five Fair Street LLC of negligence and claims he has endured not only physical pain but also “emotional pain and suffering” along with various medical bills and loss of “enjoyment of life.”
Belichick, who has previously praised Nantucket as “spectacular,” bought the 2,854 square foot property in May 2024 for $4.84 million.
At that time, Belichick had separated from the Patriots, a relationship that had netted six Super Bowl championships, and he took the helm at North Carolina after a search for an NFL job didn’t pan out. Unfortunately, his first season was quite rocky, ending with a disappointing 4-8 record.
Belichick, now 73, has also made headlines for his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, which sparked various controversies. As the new season approaches, he’s gearing up to face TCU with a mostly revamped team, including four new quarterbacks and a fresh offensive coordinator, all in an effort to turn things around.
