Ashton Jeanty on his most underrated trait, why he stayed at Boise State, and how he gets so many yards after contact

As we approach the 2025 NFL Draft, the pressure and scrutiny of the NFL Draft outlook is 1,000. Everyone wants to know who you’ve spoken to, where you’re playing, and other questions that go along with that idea. For Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, he’s stressed out playing Call of Duty: Mobile. Jeanty played Call of Duty: Mobile against other prospects at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.

Prior to the NFL Draft, Jeanty Streaming on YouTuber Bobby plays channels On Wednesday, April 23rd, we talked about Call of Duty, how he trains and more.

JA: What are your favorite parts of the draft process so far?

AJ: I think I’m just going on a trip. I can see lots of places I’ve never seen before and then meet all the different teams, players, and people of all types.

JA: Outside of the actual buildings and teams, which city has been your favorite so far?

AJ: I’m going to say Louisiana for all the food.

JA: What was your favorite meal you had?

AJ: I had this fried catfish on top of rice along with Etophie. I had forgotten what else was there, but it was a loaded, loaded dish.

JA: So this season, Boise State has been more than 1,700 yards since contact. I was thinking of ways to film all these hits and train my body to let the guys get away without losing steam.

AJ: Yes, I mean a lot of it is that I am merely a God of God who was given the gifted blessed, but there is a lot of work to do with it. Your power is really born, so strengthen your lower body and many lower body workouts you know. Next is the strong upper body and core to maintain stability. Also, working on your balance is very important and it’s a way for me to not fall and play big.

JA: With all your access to the NIL and transfer portal, you are one of the few people who have stayed at G5 schools throughout their entire career. What made you stay?

AJ: When I came to the field in terms of football, I think I had a great group of teammates, coaches, connections and relationships I had already built. After that, new coach hires [Spencer] Danielson knew he would be a great coach. The right coach for the program, someone who can guide us in the right way and take us where we need it.

From the field, all the relationships, the relationships I have built with the people around the city, the connections. I wanted to keep them all and continue to grow. That’s the most important thing, when you commit to school, you know. You want to go to a school that intends to develop you into the player you want to be. And I knew Boise was the perfect place for me.

JA: If you’re scouting yourself and have to say, “Here’s everything I’m good at, here’s what I need to improve,” then what do you think is your most underrated trait and you’ll get enough credit?

AJ: I think that’s my ability to receive. I didn’t show much last year, but in my sophomore year I got all the backs (573 yards in 2023 led all the domestic runners). So I have that ability, so I played slot receivers in my third year of high school and increased the numbers. Yes, I think that’s a bit overlooked, man.

JA: If you could implement one execution concept or scheme for the rest of your life, what are you choosing?

AJ: I’m going to choose an internal zone, man. This past season in particular has run a lot of it and a lot of it in high school. So I just got really good at implementing that scheme.

JA: Do you have your favorite touchdowns or plays of your entire career? Something you look back on with nostalgic feelings.

AJ: Over the entire career? There are two for me. There are two that stand out because no one really asked me about my whole career. I’m going to say it’s me Freshman year against San Diego State. It was my first career touchdown as a college athlete. So it’s just special because I didn’t really get that touch before that game.

Next is Washington State.. He beats a lot of tackles and just runs crazy. Running reel type of reel.

JP Acosta (JA): Call of Duty: What do you do with Mobile?

Ashton Janthi (AJ): Yes, I’ve always been a huge fan of the Call of Duty franchise. Playing mobile is perfect for my schedule. I’d play it with a few different guys and this time leads to a draft that will be performed live streams, so it’ll be fun.

JA: Who is Call of Duty: Who is the mobile guy who played with the combine? If you’re playing in a crib, who are you trying to play with?

AJ: Honestly, I really don’t know. I need to play with those guys again and reassess their abilities.

JA: So, how did playing Call of Duty help you bond with your teammates from the field?

AJ: In other words, it’s the best way to connect. Obviously, you’re playing the game, and it’s a lot of fun, but more than anything you can talk, catch up and spend time around people you might not be around every day.

JA: What is your favorite map in Call of Duty?

AJ: Ah, it certainly has to become Noottown. I have no choice but to go with OG.
