Astronomer CEO Andy Byron didn’t look too pleased after he was spotted with the company’s HR director, Christine Cabot, during a Coldplay concert on Wednesday night.
He seemed surprised, maybe even a bit anxious, when he realized they were caught on the jumbotron in a hug at the Boston show.
His expression suggested something like, “Wait, that’s me!” Share on Tiktok.
Cabot, on the other hand, appeared to take it all in stride, expressing her annoyance with a remark, “this is annoying.”
Both Byron and Cabot, who are each married to other people, made quite the stir on Thursday when videos of the moment went viral.
In the footage, Byron was seen holding onto her arm and pulling her closer as they swayed to the music.
Chris Martin, the lead singer, commented on their moment with a teasing, “Oh, look at these two,” as the camera zoomed in on them.
After that, Cabot reiterated her earlier frustration by saying, “This is annoying.”
The incident caught them unexpectedly in the “Kiss Cam” spotlight during the concert.
Following Byron’s apparent recognition, he quickly stepped out of the camera frame, while Cabot’s expression seemed to communicate some discomfort or fear.
With a chuckle, the Coldplay frontman joked, “They’re either cheating or very shy,” prompting laughter from the audience. Yet, he seemed to backtrack a bit, commenting, “I want it… We didn’t do anything wrong…”
A representative for the astronomer hasn’t responded to inquiries about the incident.
After the news broke, Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, made a notable move by removing her last name from her social media profiles before ultimately deleting her account.
Byron took on the role of CEO at the New York-based company in July 2023, according to his now-deleted LinkedIn profile.
Cabot, who had previously been called a “proven leader” by Byron, became the Chief Human Resources Officer in November 2024. Interestingly, the announcement of her role on LinkedIn has also been removed.
