11:55 AM PST – Update: A shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia left at least four people dead and nine others hospitalized. Barrow County Sheriff Judd Smith confirmed that the suspect is alive and currently in custody.

9:33 AM: Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia is currently on lockdown following reports of a shooting. Multiple casualties have been reported.

The number of victims and their current condition are not yet known, but a local hospital is reporting that one person is “being treated for multiple gunshot wounds” in connection to the shooting.

Video taken from outside showed a large police presence at the school, with at least five ambulances also on scene.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R-Ga.) told X that he had “deployed all available state resources to respond to the incident at Apalachee High School.”

Winder is a community located one hour outside of Atlanta, Georgia. The town has a population of 18,338.
