Gunman Identified Following Attacks at Dallas ICE Facility
Reports indicate that three individuals were shot, resulting in two fatalities during a shooting incident Wednesday at an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas. The FBI is treating this as a targeted attack against ICE, with sources naming a 29-year-old suspect, Joshua Jahn. During a morning press conference, an FBI spokesperson noted that evidence of anti-ICE sentiments was found among the shell casings located near the shooter.
Authorities revealed the shooting occurred while ICE officers were transferring detainees. Following the attack, the shooter took his own life. The three victims were all in a law enforcement van at the time—two of them succumbed to their injuries.
Speaking to Fox News, sources claim the shooting took place while the van carrying detainees was open, and the gunman attempted to breach the facility. “These politically charged assaults on law enforcement are not isolated incidents,” stated an official. “Just a short time ago, there was an ambush on another ICE facility near Prarieland, Texas.”
Homeland Security Secretary Christa Noem acknowledged the situation, confirming multiple deaths. She expressed concern, mentioning, “The details are still emerging, but this reflects alarming violence against our ICE agencies.” She called for prayers for the victims’ families as investigations continued.
Meanwhile, law enforcement officials confirmed the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. local time, noting that none of their officers were harmed, but the emotional toll is significant. Senator Ted Cruz also weighed in, emphasizing there is no justification for such violence and advocating for discussions around immigration to take place in appropriate forums.
As the investigations unfold, local representatives are keeping their communities informed. Congressman Marc Veasey shared that his office is closely monitoring the situation and providing updates as they come in.
In response to the shooting, Texas Governor Greg Abbott condemned the act as an “assassination,” reaffirming the state’s support for ICE and committing to work alongside law enforcement to understand the motive behind the attack.
