Attack on Israeli Embassy Workers Stemmed from Allowing Protests and Columbia Kidnapping

Dershowitz’s Remarks on Embassy Shootings

During a Thursday appearance on Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow,” Alan Dershowitz, an emeritus professor at Harvard Law, addressed the tragic shootings of two Israeli embassy staff members that occurred on Wednesday.

Dershowitz reflected on his experiences from the 1950s to the 1970s, noting, “When Columbia University allowed riots and unrest, the boundary between protests and violence can easily blur.” He emphasized the troubling connection between campus activities and the recent violence.

He particularly criticized campus leaders, stating, “The absence of mourning on campus contributes to these murders. It’s concerning that legislators, like MP Ilhan Omar (D-MN), do not explicitly condemn these acts. At the university, there are even instances of praising October 7th and the violence associated with it.” He indicated that there is a direct link between the behaviors observed on campus and the shootings that have taken place.
