Aubrey O’Day announces she will not be appearing as a witness in the Diddy trial.

Aubrey O’Day, who once worked under Sean “Diddy” Combs, has confirmed she will not be taking the stand in his ongoing sex trafficking trial. O’Day, a former contestant on Diddy’s MTV show “Making the Band,” rose to fame as a member of the girl group Danity Kane. Recently, she stirred speculation about her involvement in the trial after posting a story on Instagram from New York City.

In the post, O’Day asked her followers where she should head first in the city, and some former bandmates reacted with balanced emojis, often seen as a symbol of justice. However, she clarified her stance in the inaugural episode of her podcast titled “Amy Robach & TJ Holmes Present: Aubrey O’Day, Covering Diddy Trial.”

“No, I’m not here to testify about the Diddy trial,” she stated. Still, she revealed that officials from the Department of Homeland Security had reached out to her for a meeting related to the case.

O’Day elaborated that her social media posts were meant to show she was not involved in the trial proceedings. In March 2024, DHS conducted raids on Diddy’s residences in Los Angeles and Miami.

Interestingly, when her podcast recording location was pointed out to be close to the trial site, she expressed confusion. This, despite earlier reports hinting at her potential testimony, which didn’t materialize as she had not been subpoenaed by either side of the case.

The trial itself commenced on May 12 at the United States Courthouse in Manhattan. Diddy faces serious charges, including conspiracy to commit assault and sex trafficking. He has denied all allegations and has pleaded not guilty.

Notably, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Kathy Ventura, provided testimony for four days, sharing emotional accounts of alleged abuse during their relationship. O’Day was not directly involved, but her former bandmate Dawn Richard testified about witnessing an incident involving Cassie, Diddy’s ex.

O’Day’s history with Diddy has been a topic of conversation over the years, particularly after he fired her from Danity Kane around a decade ago. She recently mentioned that she had revealed parts of her story publicly for a long time, aligning her comments with Diddy’s recent issues, which reportedly involve allegations from numerous individuals.

In reflecting on the trial, which she describes as “bittersweet,” O’Day expressed a desire for justice and change within the music industry to better protect victims. She explained her collaboration on the podcast as a means to reclaim her voice and address the controversies surrounding her departure from the band.
