Yesterday saw Australia push all the way up to 474, thanks to Steve Smith registering consecutive hundreds after his ton at Brisbane, and Pat Cummins supporting him with 49 runs of his own. India were in the game while Yashasvi Jaiswal was barnstorming along with Virat Kohli in support, but they upended that with a terrible run out, then Kohli lost concentration and chased a wide ball to get out.

The fifth wicket of the day was the nightwatch, Akash Deep, so India have Pant and Jadeja to resume today, with Reddy and Sundar as proper batters to come in next. The genuine lower order is only Bumrah and Siraj. Nonetheless, it’s going to be a huge job to get anywhere within proximity of Australia’s score. As in Brisbane, the first target will be to avoid the follow on, at 111 runs away.

As always, feel free to drop us an email. Let us know where you are and what you are doing during the quiet week of Christmas.
For me yesterday's story was the delivery from Cummins to the best Indian bat of the series, bowl KL Rahul. Here is an entire article about one ball.
preamble

Oh my gosh, cricket people. We are gearing up for day three of the MCG and the next few days could see record crowds, but only if India can hold on. They are currently in a tight contest, trailing by 310 runs with five wickets in hand in the first innings.
Yesterday, Australia pushed Australia to 474 points thanks to back-to-back hundreds from Steve Smith following his score in Brisbane and Pat Cummins supporting him with 49 of his own. India continued to attack with Yashasvi Jaiswal in support along with Virat Kohli, but the situation was turned upside down with a nasty run-out, after which Kohli lost concentration and went out chasing a wide ball.
The fifth wicket of the day was Akashdeep of the night watch, so India will have Pant and Jadeja back in action today, with Reddy and Sundar as the next proper batsmen to come. The only real subordinates are Bumrah and Siraj. Nevertheless, it will be a tough task to reach anything close to Australia's score. As in Brisbane, the first objective will be to escape with a 111 to avoid being followed.
Today, everyone was together with a 1 win and 1 loss in the series.
