Field hockey player Tom Craig has been banned for 12 months by the sport's Australian governing body after attempting to buy cocaine at the Paris Olympics.
Craig was arrested on August 7 after the Olympic Games had concluded while attempting to buy the drug during a night out in Paris, but was released without charge.
He faced Australian media in Paris after French prosecutors released a statement confirming that the now 29-year-old Olympian and silver medallist at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago had received a criminal warning and been released after being held overnight.

“Following an investigation into the arrest of Tom Craig, a player on the Paris 2024 Olympic men's ice hockey team, Hockey Australia's Integrity Unit has imposed a 12-month suspension,” Hockey Australia said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Six months of this suspension will be fully served and the remaining six months will be fully suspended, subject to compliance with behaviour and conduct requirements.”
Hockey Australia said Craig would remain eligible for selection for the 2025 men's national team, which is due to be announced later this year.
The Australian men's team finished sixth in Paris.
