Authorities Confirm Identity of Man Discovered Deceased in 'Pool of Blood' at Burning Man Festival

Investigation into Burning Man Murder Case

A man was found dead in a significant blood pool at the Burning Man Music Festival in Nevada, prompting an investigation, according to officials.

The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) identified the victim as Vadim Kruglov on Wednesday. Reports indicate that he was from Russia, and his family has been informed of his passing. Authorities are actively pursuing leads that could result in the suspect’s arrest.

The murder investigation was initiated on Saturday at around 9:14 PM, with a white male reportedly discovered in a state that indicated death. He was found just as the festival’s iconic wooden “man” structure was being burned, and it seems that this incident is viewed as a “single crime,” as noted in a press release from Sheriff Jerry Allen.

According to information shared by the Burning Man Journal, the deceased was described as being 35-40 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, and weighing around 200 pounds.

The journal also stated that they are collaborating with the PCSO in the ongoing investigation. They expressed condolences to Kruglov’s family and friends, recognizing his place in the community.

The Burning Man Project is committed to aiding the sheriff’s investigation and has indicated a willingness to coordinate donations to the Secret Witness Program to facilitate this process.

Burning Man, an annual festival held in Black Rock City, Nevada, is set to conclude on Monday, which may create a sense of urgency for law enforcement to collect evidence before the temporary city is dismantled.

The remote nature of the festival site, compounded by the lack of mobile phone service, is adding layers of difficulty to the investigation.

In a related note, another festival attendee has faced charges of sexual assault and robbery, according to a PCSO announcement.

A friend reported that 37-year-old Kruglov was last seen on August 29 and was noted as missing by Tuesday.
