Ongoing Investigation into Mississippi Teen’s Death
Uncertainties linger surrounding the death of Nolan Wells, a teenager from Mississippi. He vanished while enjoying a weekend boat outing with friends, specifically on Independence Day.
Tragically, Nolan’s body was discovered on Horn Island two days after he went missing. The United Cajun Navy confirmed that they found him on July 6.
A National Park Service ranger made the grim discovery, as noted by Vice President Brian Trasher. The group had stepped in to help after being alerted via social media about the situation.
Trasher recounted how the team spent the morning gathering information from locals for any leads regarding Nolan’s last known whereabouts. “We were trying to figure out where the wind and current patterns might carry him,” he shared.
Rumors have emerged online regarding the circumstances of Nolan’s separation from his friends and their boat. However, Trasher emphasized, “There is no evidence to suggest that he was dumped on the island and left for dead.” He mentioned that the prevailing theory points to drowning as the cause of death.
According to Trasher, Nolan’s body was found not far from where he was last seen, indicating he didn’t drift very far. “The wind and drift patterns tell the story,” he reflected.
It’s worth noting that the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is conducting the investigation, not any private group. Trasher, while not an investigator himself, certainly has experience in search and rescue, stating, “I’m here to help, but I’m not a medical professional.”
Authorities have not yet disclosed the official cause of death. The investigation into Nolan Wells’ demise continues, and the Sheriff’s Department is urging anyone with information to step forward.
In light of recent events, Wells’ family has enlisted attorney Ben Crump to represent them. The family’s statement emphasizes their desire for a thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding Nolan’s death.
