Man Sought for Murder After Daughters Found Dead in Washington
Authorities are searching for a former Army soldier, Travis Decker, who is currently wanted on three counts of murder following the tragic discovery of his three young daughters in Washington state. The girls, aged 9, 8, and 5, were reported missing after not returning home from a visit with their father.
The mother alerted the Wenatchee police when Decker failed to bring the girls back as planned. This incident unfolded in Wenatchee, situated approximately 100 miles east of Seattle.
On Monday, the authorities discovered the children’s bodies near Decker’s abandoned 2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck, which had been located close to a campground west of Leavenworth. Court documents suggest that the girls may have died from suffocation, with details indicating they were found with their wrists tied.
Decker, now 32, has been labeled dangerous, although it’s noted he is not believed to be armed. Law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals and the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, are collaborating on this case. A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
In statements made during the investigation, Decker’s ex-wife mentioned his struggles with mental health, specifically a borderline personality disorder diagnosis. Witnesses reported that he seemed unusually quiet while picking up the children, which was out of character for him. Additionally, he had expressed concerns related to housing and financial troubles.
