Autopsies have shown that the two victims of the Bayesian tragedy, New York City lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife, Neda, drowned aboard a superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily last month.
The Morvillos were among seven people who died when a ferocious storm capsized a $40 million boat owned by British tech billionaire Mike Lynch on August 19.
Lynch and her daughter Hannah also died in the accident.
The first autopsies in the tragedy were carried out on the bodies of the Morbillos.
Autopsies on the bodies of Morgan Stanley Bank International Chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife, Judy, are scheduled for Wednesday. The Associated Press reported.
The forensic investigation also includes three Bayesian crew members on suspicion of negligence causing death and causing the sinking of the ship.
The boat's captain, James Cutfield, has not spoken about the accident and refused to answer questions from prosecutors.
Other crew members claim they did all they could to save those on board.
One of the crew, the ship's cook, Recardo Thomas, was also among the casualties – he was the only crew member not to survive.
The exact cause of the accident is still unknown — some suspect a rare weather event occurring at the time, known as a “black swan,” may have contributed to the disaster — but naval experts have suggested the 185-foot yacht could have withstood the storm.
Bayesians are not saved yet.
