Massive Looting Incident at Autozone in Los Angeles
Early Monday morning, an Autozone store in southern Los Angeles was hit by a large group of looters, resulting in significant damage and loss of merchandise.
At around 4 a.m., more than 100 people were seen breaking into the store, as reported by local media, which included footage captured by witnesses using a citizen app.
A police report mentioned a radio call was made regarding a “stolen suspect” in the area of South Hoover Street. It was noted that around 20 individuals stole items from the store.
The looters managed to tear down metal fences, shatter glass, and destroy display cases while systematically taking goods. However, it’s still uncertain how much was stolen during the incident.
Police stated that the suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. A robbery report has been filed, and detectives are looking into the possibility that this case is linked to similar street acquisitions.
This isn’t the first time an Autozone store in the area has experienced such looting; reports indicate that similar events had occurred previously, which may be related to ongoing street activities.
Last year, a comparable incident resulted in an estimated $67,000 worth of losses, and security footage from that event helped law enforcement identify and apprehend several suspects.
